SOME NEW FLIES Most of the favorite flies are well known to anglers in general but some of them have been origi- nated since the publication of Mrs. Marbury's " Favorite Flies and their Histories" and other standard works. For that reason I deem it advisable to give a brief mention of some of these flies which include some of the most effective patterns known to present-day fishermen. A. S. Trude. This fly was originated in 1900 by Hon. Carter H. Harrison and named for his friend, A. S. Trude, an attorney-angler of Chicago.
